Cash flow is king and cash management is vital to survival and growth. When this opportunity presented itself Telamon created the relationships with vendors around the world, coordinated purchasing, and became the central hub for those materials. Bringing in subject matter experts and engineers from the automotive arena, from the ground up we created a first in class industrial manufacturing team that then began fulfillment and modular assemblies, as well as custom packaging and distribution services to the customer’s doorsteps. Our expertise allowed us to take over 350 components and to re-configure these items into 40 assemblies; therefore, providing our customer with one point of contact and one set of accounting and administrative interactions versus the previous scenario of handling 30 plus suppliers and a plethora of individual items.
Results
Currently, over 38% of our management team are engineers, and over 14% hold Six Sigma black or green belts. Telamon’s attention to detail has made it possible for us to achieve and consistently surpass customer PPM goals, and to continuously produce and maintain 100% on-time delivery rates. Within five years, our ability to serve the needs of the customer, and to provide supply chain solutions resulted in Telamon receiving the customer’s supplier of the year award. This was also due to the significant cost savings and the ability for the customer to re-hone their business on their basics and core functions. Our success made our customer stronger and has resulted in tremendous growth for both sides of the equation.
